Celebrating Life...
with the history of logos
In January of 2006 I published a poem entitled Lets Get Honest on my Authors
Den
website.  I wrote what all the 12 steps meant in one or two words.  It was the
only place I used it and forgot all about it.

During the early fall of 2006, I stumbled upon the website
Clean and Sober Not
Dead
and began to wonder how I could get on that site.  I e-mailed them and
became quick friends with the webmaster.  We exchanged a few letters and he
asked me if I had a logo.  Through his searching, he stumbled upon my "blue box."

Here I was trying to create a logo and I already had one.  One that I made for a
poem.  I "mellowed" out some of the phrases I had on the original and put in the
phrase I had been using for awhile and I had my logo.

While some changes have occurred along the way the original "blue box" still
survives, with the slogan I truly believe.  No matter what hell we have created, our
nightmares can become dreams.  It is possible with hope and faith in our Higher
Power.
Late winter, early spring of 2007, Clean and Sober's sister site
serenityhappens.com began working on making animated banners for
their site.  I was honored when they asked me what I thought of them.

After my review, I was honored again when they made one for my site.
These banners are slowly becoming more popular than the "blue box."
Even though this creation wasn't mine, Serenity Happens still used everything from the original - they just
brought it to life.
While I consider myself fairly knowledgeable with my abilities to make a computer do things for me, there are
many things I still haven't absorbed.  One of those things is creating animated banners.  The three below, I
created with free software on-line.  Which have nothing to do with the original.  While these banners appeared
on "Top Site" lists for awhile, they have since been retired.  Why mess with the perfect banners above?
Last, but certainly not least, is the logo that appears on
this site.  It was another creation from
Serenity Happens
and when I first got it, I wasn't sure what I would do with it,
but I knew I wanted it.  Early summer of 2007
Serenity
Happens
put it in their tee-shirt line.  Naturally, I ordered
some.  One was a small size which was framed and
hangs on the wall in my office.

Purple Power CD
The creation of a new world took place Thanksgiving weekend in 2007.  The
musical CD
Purple Power was born.  It takes 12 poems I have written on cancer
survival and put the words to music.
