To survive in recovery, I constantly need to "pass it on." To freely give
away what I have learned, so ultimately, I'll receive more. It is for this
reason that I have created the award, just to the right.
The sites listed below were found during my own searches. These are
just sites that I truly enjoy. They are truly ambassadors of Passing it On!
For those in recovery or on their own inner journey to spiritual fulfillment,
these sites may just be able to share their light with you.
January 2008 - The Recovery Emporium
I stumbled upon this site early in 2007 and enjoyed the variety of
merchandise they had to offer. I also found a lot of good "freebies" which
can be found on various pages on this site.
The more I looked around I found a few gifts I wouldn't mind giving this past holiday season. Every site has its
quirks about ordering on the web. The Recovery Emporium offered a very relaxing and time saving order
sheet. Within a week, I received my first gift. In perfect condition, it was all set to be wrapped. Along with this
was a note about the rest of my order, saying it would be shipped shortly. By the end of the week, the rest of it
arrived. Stop by and have a look around, it's quite the recovery store.
Creating Dreams...
by passing it on
February 2008 - Addiction Recovery Basics
I found this site about a year ago and I've visited it often. There is so much
information of value for those who are early in recovery, as well as those who are long-timers. It's easy to
navigate and it is constantly updated. There is so much here that doing a short review of it does not do the site
justice. You are doing yourself a grave injustice if you don't take the time to have a look around this site.
March 2008 - Sobriety TV
Have you reach the point of being "burnt out" on everything you can read about
recovery? View personal stories, editorials on the 12 Steps. Even some sobriety movies.
The list of things you can watch are quite diverse and everything fits well together. An
easy site to navigate and a relaxing atmosphere. So why not stop thinking for a little bit
and just watch and listen?
April 2008 - Sober Social
I usually don't get to excited about new sites until I've searched around them for
awhile. Usually over the course of a month or two of surfing a site I can tell if it "feels
right" for me. But that recently changed, when I stumbled upon Sober Social. Kind of
a MySpace set-up for those in recovery. Every body has their own sobriety
calculator which I like a lot. How many times have you gone to a meeting, wondering
how long some one has been sober, yet your afraid to ask?
Great forums, though some are still pretty bare. Like I said it's a new site. Groups to join and if you can't find
a meeting in your area there is a page that will help you find a location. I recently joined Sober Social and
within no time had six friends on my page. It's hard for me to get excited about anything new, but this site is an
exception. There is something special starting here and I don't want any of you to miss out. It took about ten
minutes to build a "basic" page and on to the forums I went! Stop by and have a look around... and than join!!!
This is going to be something really special.
May 2008 - Barefoot's World
It's really difficult to describe this site in a few short sentences. I found it about a
year ago when I was searching for some Native American spiritual beliefs. And yes, I
found a ton of it here. I also found a lot more.
From Dr. Bob's last speech to other historic documents from AA. But also some history of our country and the
military. All told in a no non-sense kind of way. Like I said I went there looking for Native American stories and
spent most of a day searching a lot more. There is some political messages on these pages, if that isn't for
you, scroll down about half way to get to the "meat of the site." I could go on and on about Barefoot's World,
but the best thing to do is see it for yourself.
June 2008 - Recovery Universe
A site that has a little bit of something for everyone. Some very interesting
statistics on addiction. Chat rooms and forums.
Daily reflections, slogans, quotes from numerous sources, and of course reflections from the best (in my
opinion) book for meetings, As Bill Sees It. Stop by and do a little reflecting and even some meditating .
July 2008 - Electoral Vote
I love politics and while this time of year turns many people off, I relish every little bit
of information I can get. This site has it all. Daily polls for all the major races as well
as links to other sites.
August 2008 - dryblog
Looking for some serious links? Looking for some fun links? Looking for a
laugh?
Dryblog has a little bit of something for everyone. Comics, videos, it's all here. Through it all is a touch of
that insanity that gripped us all. Stop by and browse, I'll bet you'll go back.
September 2008 - Improve Our Conscious Contact
When I returned to the tables, I realized that for me to have any chance
at long-term sobriety, I had to improve my conscious contact with my
Higher Power.
It is a journey that continues to grow and evolve. I was fortunate in early recovery to have some great
teachers. For many it’s not an easy subject to talk about. If you’re willing to open your mind and challenge
yourself, this is a site for you. Spirituality is a never ending process. The goal is continued growth and
challenges. This site offers you both.
