Throughout 2009, I shared my thoughts on the 12 Promises of Alcoholics Anonymous. Which can be found starting on the
bottom of page 83 of Alcoholic's Anonymous' Big Book.
Beautiful words, beautiful sentiments which give everyone the strength to move forward. Strength filled with Hope for a better
tomorrow. Hope is a key ingredient to making the first step toward sobriety.
Many lists the promises differently then I do. The first promise that I show is actually the "lead in" to the promises with, Are
these extravagant promises? We think not. They are being fulfilled among us—sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. They will
always materialize if we work for them, being the 12th promise.
But I do put faith that what is not consider a promise, If we are painstaking about this phase of our development, we will be
amazed before we are half way through, is one. I say that because without the pain, nothing else will come true.

Creating Dreams,
by finding the promises
The Promises will only come true...
When we Walk The Talk. I have known so many people who can talk the talk. Their whole program is a book and they are
really quick to point it out to you. These people used to impress me, but the truth is they have no program at all. You listen to
them and they never share ESH. It is all from a book and all they do is preach and eventually drive people away from them.
They are Big Book Bullies.
The Promises will come true when the talk is changed to the walk... by being honest and humble and always ready to learn. It
doesn't matter if a person has thirty years of sobriety or thirty minutes... we are all students and we are all teachers.
