Poets Quill guidelines
Every Tuesday night, The Poets Quill appears in The Beatrice Daily-Sun (NE) newspaper.

What makes this column work are the submissions from poets like you!

Guidelines are simple - nothing pornographic, nothing that might be considered as slander, and of course,
nothing that is copyrighted (unless you are the owner.)

I do allow pen-names, but I will still need to know your true identity.  The main reason for this, once again is
copyright laws.  And I will not publish poetry sent to me anonymously.

My only request is that you live in the "Sunland" area - which is basically Southeast Nebraska and Northeast
Kansas.  Though I have published poems from Chicago and Minneapolis, mainly because these poets had
relatives living in the area.

If you submit poetry written by someone else, I need in writing that you have permission to do so.  Or I need
the contact information for that poet.

The possibilities are endless! One poet, Richard Reichwein of Delphos, Kansas, recently had his first book of
poetry published, while another contributor, Jim Higgins of Lincoln, Nebraska, recently signed a contract to
have his first book published.

They both got their start at
The Poets Quill.  You could be next! Lets make your dream come to life!

E-mail me your poem today! Or find my address in Tuesday's paper, or you can mail it to the newspaper.

Jim Higgins book - Ya Never Stop
Why The Quill?

Why not? Who knows where your poetry will go after it has been published in The Poets
Quill.
Long time contributor to The Quill, Jim Higgins, recently had a collection of his
poems published.  In one of the columns I made mention that Jim's muse "never stops."
He used that thought for the title of his book -
Ya Never Stop.

Are your poems worthy of being published in their own book?  You'll never know until you
take the plunge and show your talents in
The Poets Quill.

To save the time of waiting on a publisher to get your poems into a book another
alternative is self-publishing.  Richard Reichwein of Kansas took this approach with his
first book.  Rich got his confidence from poems first published through
The Quill
